Harry Crofton, CCI
Involved in fly fishing and tying since taking introductory courses at Jones Tackle in Brisbane Australia over twelve years ago, Harry is a Federation of Fly Fishers Certified Casting Instructor living in Houston, Texas. Harry provides personalized group and individual casting instruction, has assisted with casting classes at Bass Pro, and helps with the Orvis Fly Fish 101 program. Harry has presented programs at Bass Pro and Texas FlyFishers on fishing the Texas Hill Country and selecting fly lines. Last year Harry became a member of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Angler Education instructor program.
A member of Texas FlyFishers of Houston, he stays busy as the club Treasurer, Website Co-Editor, and assists with the club casting program. He has been the Freshwater Outings Chair and the WindKnots Editor. Two years running he was the Program Chair for the FFF Gulf Coast Council Expo in Lake Charles.
Harry has fished from Texas to Wisconsin, chalk streams in England, isolated tarns in Wales, small mountain streams for 'thousands of brothers' in the Norwegian Telemark, the spectacular Grenlæker in South-Central Iceland for giant arctic char, remote lakes in the Orkneys for browns, the Danish 'sea trout Eldorado' coastline of Funen, the Irish Bandon for sea trout, the central north island region in New Zealand, the Australian Blue Mountains, Queensland's unending coastline, and remote streams near Batumi, Georgia but still looks for every opportunity to cast a Miss Prissy for 'Guads' on the Llano in central Texas.
